Ways To Hard Reset Your Samsung Galaxy SI and SII

If your phone is not working correctly as it should then you should consider hard resetting it. There are steps to hard resetting your phone
- Cache Partition
- Master Reset
- Safe Mode
Cache Partition

To wipe the cache partition, follow these steps:

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold both Volume Up and Volume Down keys at the same time.
3. Press the Power key only until the phone vibrates once, then release only the Power key.
4. Continue to hold the Volume up and Volume Down keys until the Android System Recovery screen appears.
5. Press the Volume Down key to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press the Home(GB only) or Power(ICS only) key to select.
7. Make sure Reboot System Now is highlighted and press the Home (or Powerkey to reboot.

Master Reset

1. Back up all data on the internal memory.
2. Turn off the device.
3. Press and hold both Volume Up and Volume Down keys at the same time.
4. Press the Power key only until the phone vibrates once, then release only the Power key.
5. Continue to hold the Volume up and Volume Down keys until the Android System Recovery screen appears.
6. Press the Volume Down key to highlight wipe data / factory reset.
7. Press the Power key to select.
8. Press the Volume Down key to highlight Yes - Delete all user data.
9. Press the Power key to select.
10. Press the Power key to reboot.

Safe Mode

Turn on and use safe mode

Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily remove all apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.

To turn on safe mode and use it to fix app problems, follow these steps:

1. Remove the battery from the phone.
2. Re-insert the battery.
3. Press and hold the Menu key.
4. While holding the Menu key, turn on the device.
5. When you see the lock screen, you can release the Menu key.
   'Safe mode' displays in the lower-left corner.

Turn off safe mode

To turn off safe mode, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the Power key.
2. Touch Power off.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Re-insert the battery.
5. Press the Power key to turn on the device, but do not touch any keys during the restart.
